Mentoring

Say YES! to Mentoring

YES!   70x7 Life Recovery (formerly CJC) is seeking adult men and women, individuals or groups to mentor returning citizens (ex-offenders).  A mentor is a concerned, accepting friend and adviser who meets with the mentee to provide support, encouragement, and accountability.

YES!  70x7 Life Recovery (CJC) provides training for these mentors and on-going opportunities for support through our Mentor Lunches, Trainings through MCN and Reentry Lunch Gatherings.  Also, feel free to call us at anytime.

YES!  You will be matched with a same gender mentee.  A meeting is held with the mentee and mentor at which time guidelines that promote healthy communication, boundaries and expectations are discussed.  After this meeting you will begin meeting in a neutral location once a week for an hour.  Your commitment starts with a six month time period.  If things are going well however, it may be ongoing.

YES!  You are qualified.  You do not need a formal education to become a mentor but you do need a willingness to give time and experience to assist as a friend.  A volunteer application with references is required.  Training is provided.  Volunteers need to be at least 21 years old and have their own transportation.

Is God calling you to demonstrate his love and invest your time into another’s life?
